Hi EileenSanda. I give you the new version of the code, thanks for the translations, but I prefer if you put them on d:Module:Cycling race because there is a risk I don't see them on DA Wiki.

I need you create a lot of articles about cycling teams with just a introduction and the 2016 roster. You don't need to add an infobox because a common infobox will arrive in the future. On Fyrimynd:Cycling race/listofteams, we have the examples of Wanty-Groupe Gobert, Bora-Argon 18, Fortuneo-Vital Concept, Roompot-Oranje Peloton, Topsport Vlaanderen-Baloise, Gazprom-RusVelo, Stölting Service Group, Wilier Triestina-Southeast, Nippo-Vini Fantini, Delko-Marseille Provence-KTM, Wallonie Bruxelles-Group Protect, Roubaix Métropole européenne de Lille, Crelan-Vastgoedservice, HP BTP-Auber 93, Armée de Terre, Bardiani CSF, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, ONE Pro Cycling, Wiggins, An Post-ChainReaction, JLT Condor, Madison Genesis, NFTO. It don't need a very big work, one phrase to introduce, categories, and roster given with one line of code thanks to Wikidata. Thanks to this, you will receive little to little updates. If you have the time, you can play to write articles about old teams, for example fr:Équipe cycliste IJsboerke where I translate from catalan and add rosters. For 2016, we have on FR Wiki fr:Liste des équipes continentales en 2016. As you can see it is not perfect, because it rest teams to write articles. In the next months, we will be able to reuse all datas from Wikidata, so it will change a big number of things. For example you will can write articles about season team or stages because you will receive all the datas and will be able to write text. Me very fine. This summer I traveled 10 days in Pesaro, and th Aug. 24th I felt the earthquake! At 3,40 a.m. I was get up, my room was moving like a boat! But it was 30 seconds afraid only. I'm sad for the 295 victims.

Problems

• Some users got a warning about Wikipedia's security certificate last week. This was because of a problem GlobalSign had. This has now been fixed. Only a small number of users got the warning. [24]
• Editors couldn't edit semi-protected pages in the Wikipedia app for Android. This has now been fixed in the beta version. [25]

• The "Search" text in the search box will show the name of the project. For example, on Wikipedia it will say "Search Wikipedia". [28]
• About a dozen wikis now have numerical sorting in categories. If your wiki wants numerical sorting in categories you can ask for it. [29]
• Some wikis that want numerical sorting in categories can also ask to use UCA to sort categories. The biggest difference is that characters with diacritics will be sorted together. For example, for most languages Ä will be sorted with A instead of at the end of the alphabet. This is not true for languages that have Ä as a character in their alphabet. Wikis that already use UCA are listed on Meta. Languages that can use UCA are listed on MediaWiki.org. You can test it.

We will use Central Notice in Faroese so it could be a good chance to attract more people join Faroese Wikipedia. Here are the guidelines of what need to do. Page Set up

• Our Sample page with the new logo is ready to be translated. There are only a few adjust if you had this page for 2015 already.
  • Article Requirement is 4
  • Article criteria is 3k bytes and 300 words. NO 2k bytes for smaller Wikipedia.
  • According to the tool's limit, IP users can not participate. Please encourage them register an account.

Localization

• Please localize this template and used on sign up page. I will update the template once the tool is ready to be used.

Stragety

• Here are some recent updates for you, and as always, let me know if you have any idea, thought or question.
  • IMPORTANT: Asian Language Wikipedia will exclude the language speaking country from the Asian Month so we can encourage editors write something about other part of Asia. E.g., Chinese Wikipedia will exclude Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Indian language Wikipedia will exclude India. If you have problems with that, please let me know.
  • I've posted the tool instruction and newest postcard rules on each Wiki' event page. Make sure you translate it. In short: 4 articles get one card, 15 get another one (Special one), and the Ambassador gets another one.
  • We will still allow two Ambassadors if top and second contributors have more than 30 accepted articles, just like last year. Please send this information to high-quantity participant to encourage them.
  • Please create this talk page template and linked in Wikidata. Judging tool will add this template to submitted articles automatically.
  • The judging tool should work fine. If not, talk to me.

  • Additional souvenirs (e.g. Stickers, bookmarks) will sent to Ambassadors and active organizers.
  • I'm doing some basic statistics at Result page every week, in case you are interested.
• I've already sent noticfication to global top 20 users that WMF will give global top 3 contributors a free Wikimedia T-shirt. Here are the rules:
  • A participant's article count is combined on all language Wikipedias they have contributed to
  • Only Wikipedia Asian Month on Wikipedia projects will count (no WikiQuote, etc.)
  • The global top 3 article count will only be eligible on Wikipedias where the WAM article requirement is at least 3,000 Bytes and 300 words.
  • Please make sure enforce the rules, such as proper references, notability, and length.
  • International organizers will double check the top 3 users' accepted articles, so if your articles are not fulfilling the rules, you might be disqualified. We don't want it happened so please don't let us make such a decision.
  • Rest of Global top 10 users will also get some WAM souvenirs.

Update (Nov. 16)

Hi WAM organizers! It's now half way! Good job! Here are some updates:

• As many of you may notice, that the judging tool has came back to normal.
• I've set up a result page with some numbers in it. It may not accurate, just as a reference at this time.
• WAM should get more media coverage. If you can help (either locally or internationally), please let me know!
• Please considering start judging articles if you have not yet. it's really important to give feedbacks to participants so they can improve articles or get motivated.
• With your help, I may start the first round of address collection before WAM ends for who already have four accepted articles and organizers, as I promised to improve the postcard sending process this year.

Problems

• A hacker group is hacking Wikimedia accounts. They can probably do this because users have the same passwords on Wikimedia wikis as on other sites. Please have a password you use only on the Wikimedia wikis and nowhere else. This is especially important for administrators, bureaucrats, oversighters and checkusers. These users can also turn on two-factor authentication. [49]

Changes this week

• There is no new MediaWiki version this week.
• RevisionSlider will be a default feature on German, Arabic and Hebrew Wikipedia. This will happen on 22 November. It will come to other wikis later. [50][51][52]

Changes this week

• When someone tries to log in to a blocked account they will be blocked by a cookie. This means their browser will be blocked even if they change their IP address. This makes it more difficult for returning vandals. [55]
• When you use Content Translation to adapt a template to a new translation it will work differently. You can adapt big templates such as infoboxes. Translators will have control over the template parameters. A first version of this is released this week. It is possible it will not work correctly with all templates. There will be more updates for this soon. [56]
• The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 29 November. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 30 November. It will be on all wikis from 1 December (calendar).
• Gadgets will have a new option called "hidden". This means you can register gadgets that can't be turned on or off from the preferences page. Hiding gadgets was already possible by using [rights=hidden]. You should now use [hidden] instead. [rights=hidden] in old gadgets should be changed to [hidden]. [57][58]

Here are what will come after the end of WAM

• Make sure you judge all articles before December 5th, and participants who can improve their contribution (not submit) before December 10th.
• Participates still can submit their contribution in November before December 2nd at this page. Please let your local wiki participates know. Once you finish the judging, please update this page after December 5th
• There will be three round of address collection scheduled: December 2nd, December 7th, and December 20th.
• Please report the local Wikipedia Asian Ambassador (who has most accepted articles) on this page, if the 2nd participants has more than 30 accepted articles, you will have two ambassadors.
• I will announce the name of Wikipedians who will able to pick a Wikimedia T-shirt from Wikimedia Store for free after I re-check their contributions.

Some Questions

• Users who have Yahoo email addresses could not use Special:EmailUser to send emails. This has now been fixed. Emails will now come from a @wikimedia.org address. Users who get an email from you will still reply to your email address and be able to see it. [63]
• You can now see how many categories and pages there are in the categories in Special:TrackingCategories. This is to help you find pages that could need attention. [64]
• Markup colours for reviewed and pending revisions in the page history and recent changes and logs now match Wikimedia standard colours. The "You have a new message on your talk page" notification will have a slightly different colour. [65]

• Because of work on cross-wiki watchlists global renaming is not working. The plan is to turn it on again on 16 December. Global renaming was turned off for a while in late November and early December as well. [66]

Recent changes

• Administrators and translation administrators can now use Special:PageLanguage on wikis with the Translate extension. This means you can say what language a page is in. The Translate extension will use that language as the source language when you translate. Previously this was always the wiki's default language. This was usually English. [67]
• Wikis connected to Wikidata can now use the parser function {{#statements: }} to get formatted data. You can also use {{#property: }} to get raw data. You can see the difference between the two statements. There are also similar new functions in Lua. [68]

Problems

• Some abuse filters for uploaded files have not worked as they should. We don't know exactly which filters didn't work yet. This means some files that filters should have prevented from being uploaded were uploaded to the wikis. MediaWiki.org and Testwiki have been affected since 13 October. Commons and Meta have been affected since 17 October. Other wikis have been affected since 17 November. [69]

• There is no new MediaWiki version this week. There will be no new MediaWiki version next week either.

On another point, you will find articles to create on fr:Catégorie:Cyclisme sur route en 2017. Now, we widely use Wikidata on FR Wiki. I will be happy in 2017 if we become able to centralise fr:Discussion modèle:Barème des points UCI for UCI Points. Changes sometimes occur and it will be cool to be able to display automatically this table, and to be able to have tables for 1990s or 2000s for example. We use the dot (.) just like in Danish, behind the number, and regard the word for etape, it depends if it is in nominativ, then it is "1. teinur", in akkusativ it would be "1. teinin", i.e. if the sentence starts with "1^re étape" it would be "1. teinur". If it is for instance "Chris Froome won the 1st etape" it would be "Chris Froome vann 1. teinin". The Faroese language is more complicated than Danish in that way, it is like in German, we cline the nouns in four cases, nominative, accusative, dative and genitive case. It should be with comma (,) 248,7 km, just like in Danish and French. • You can now use datasets on Commons. You can see an example that is using this source. [70]
• There is a new opt-in beta feature of a wikitext mode for the visual editor. You can try it out.
• When you update a page with translations on wikis with the Translate extension the existing translations will be marked as outdated instead of removed. [71]
• The new version of MediaWiki was released to all wikis last week (calendar).
• MoodBar has been removed from the Wikimedia wikis. [72]
• The live option for the Tipsy notice tool has been removed. Gadgets and user scripts which use it need to be updated. [73]

Problems

• Editors who use Firefox 50 might get logged out or fail to save their edits. This is because of a browser bug. Until this is fixed you can enter about:config in the address bar and set network.cookie.maxPerHost to 5000. Firefox 50 is the current version of the Firefox. [74]

Färiska sjukan - igen.

Hej Eileen!

Jag har råkat titta litet på vår artikel no:Færøysk syke. Språket har de norska wikipedianerna rättat till. sv:Användare:Riggwelter har också översatt den från norska till svenska, ser jag. (När kommer den färiska artikeln:-)?)

Jag läste också den angivna källan från år 2003 (alltså Ulrike Steuerwalds artikel i Gunnvá Mortensens översättning) litet noggrannare, och jag blev litet fundersam. I den danska artikeln stod att omkring var 20:e färing antas vara bärare av det recessiva anlaget; men i källan däremot bara

Sostatt má roknes við, at mutatiónin er nógv útbreidd í føroyska fólkinum: uml. 1 av 25 kann vera berari!

Nu är ju 1 av 25 (alltså 4%) mindre än 1 av 20 (som är 5%). Om vi inte har någon annan källa, så bör vi ändra uppgiften i dawp- och nowpartiklarna. (annars får jag återställa svwpartikeln, som jag redan ändrat.) Verkligheten är illa nog som den är; vi bör ju inte framställa den som ännu värre.

Artiklarna är också litet oklara vad gäller skillnaden mellan att vara anlagsbärare och att vara sjuk. Det är möjligt att den gamla version som du lade tillbaka skrevs av någon som inte riktigt förstår hur den här typen av genetiska sjukdomar ärvs.

Jag undrar också över om något har hänt sedan år 2003. I Ulrikes artikel sägs det att man inte har hittat den gen det är fel på (om jag förstod artikeln rätt), men att man misstänker fel på mitokondrierna, och särskilt i andningsapparaten. Nu kan ju inte ett genetiskt fel i mitokondrierna vara grundorsaken, eftersom man på grund av arvsmönstret vet att både fadern och modern måste bidra med den mutetrade genen för att barnet skall bli sjukt. (Mitokondriernas arvsmassa ärver man ju bara från sin mor.) Ulrike skrev ju också:

Nej, den källan från 2009 hade jag inte sett, och den svarade på en del av mina frågor; stort tack! Den ger ju mycket klarare information om sjukdomen än vad Steuerwalds artikel gör.

Man vet alltså vilket enzym som är skadat, och man vet var genen för detta enzym sitter. Det framgår att enzymet används av mitokondrierna, men att själva den genetiska skadan inte finns där, utan i en av cellkärnans kromosomer (nämligen den trettonde). Detta betyder att man bör kunna avgöra om en person är bärare av anlaget med hjälp av ett enkelt DNAtest av ett blodprov, precis som det står i avsnittet Ráðgeving av pørum. Om det blir vanligt att göra sådana test när gravida kvinnor ändå undersöks, så kan det mycket väl leda till att antalet sjuka nyfödda barn går ned. Det skulle vara intressant att veta om det redan är så. Procentsatsen bärare påverkas dock inte särskilt mycket av detta.

Källan bekräftar att det snarare är 1 på 25 (alltså 4%) som är anlagsbärare än 1 på 20, som det nu står i de danska och norska artiklarna. Jag rättar detta. Jag skulle också vilja använda källan som referens. Är det rätt uppfattat att den kommer från ett artikelarkiv för tidningen Sosialurin? Jag hittade litet om sjukdomen i en enwikiartikel: en:Mitochondrial_DNA_depletion_syndrome#Encephalomyopathic form (SUCLA2 and RRM2B related). Där står något om undersökningar man har gjort på 12 barn som fötts med sjukdomen fram till år 2007. De ger en engelsk källa som referens, nämligen "SUCLA2-Related Mitochondrial DNA Depletion Syndrome, Encephalomyopathic Form, with Mild Methylmalonic Acuduria". review. GeneReviews [Internet] (Seattle (WA): University of Washington, Seattle). May 2009.  . Jag har inte tittat på denna källa än, men antar att den kan vara användbar.
